About Us

Ghana Home Loans ("GHL") is a mortgage finance institution which operates under Bank of Ghana supervision as a non-bank financial institution.  At present, the Company remains the only such institution that focuses exclusively on the provision of mortgage product.

Our key objective is to leverage information technology and modern mortgage finance techniques to consistently provide our clients with competitively priced long term mortgage finance to facilitate home ownership.

Prospective applicants are not required to open a bank account with Ghana Home Loans or participate in any kind of saving scheme before qualifying for a mortgage.

Our Team

Dominic Adu – Chief Executive Officer

Prior to co-founding Ghana Home Loans, Dominic was an Investment Principal with Actis (formerly CDC Capital Partners) a UK based private equity funds manager, covering the West African sub-region.

While with Actis, Dominic served as CEO of Venture Fund Management Company, the Investment Manager (General Partner) of Ghana Venture Capital Fund and Enterprise Fund, both SME funds, with a combined investment value of US$ 10 million and assisted in investing and managing the $90million Actis portfolio of investments in Ghana.

Lately, he was a principal in originating, structuring and managing the financing of the US$30m Accra Shopping and Entertainment Mall under construction in Accra, Ghana as well as the US$50m The Palms Shopping Mall in Lagos, Nigeria.

Prior to his career with CDC, he was briefly a Finance Manager with Ashanti Goldfields (now AngloGold Ashanti), and before that a Management and Financial Accountant with Watson Wyatt Investment Advisors (UK) and an Audit Senior with BDO Stoy Hayward (UK).

Dominic is an economics graduate from the University of Manchester (B A Econs) and University of London (MSc Econs) as well as a qualified chartered accountant (ACA England & Wales).

Kojo Addo-Kufuor – Chief Operating Officer

Before co-founding Ghana Home Loans, Kojo previously worked as an Executive Director at SDC Brokerage Services, Accra.

Prior to joining SDC, he was an investment banker with Citigroup - initially with Schroder Salomon Smith Barney’s corporate finance team based in London and then with Citibank Nigeria's Corporate Finance Group in Lagos.

Before joining Citigroup, Kojo worked as a management consultant with KPMG Barents LLC in South East Asia and Australia, advising banks and other financial institutions in that region. He was a member of the Strategy Practice based in Melbourne and Jakarta that works with senior executives of client institutions to develop and implement corporate and market positioning strategies.

Earlier in his career, Kojo worked with Dresdner Kleinwort Benson’s Structured and Project Finance team in New York, Product Finance Limited, the consumer lease financing subsidiary of DG Bank in London, and also briefly with Merrill Lynch's Global Sovereign Risk Group in New York.

Kojo holds a B.Sc. (Agricultural Engineering) from KNUST, an M.Sc. (Computing Science) from University of London, and an MBA (Finance and International Business) from Columbia Business School, New York.

Ellis Atekpe – Executive Director, Mortgage Operations

Before co-founding Ghana Home Loans, Ellis headed HFC Bank’s Mortgage Operations Department, which he joined in 1999. He spearheaded the strategic planning and implementation of policies to strengthen underwriting criteria and debt recovery.

Ellis was in charge of Local & Foreign Currency, Corporate and Construction Finance Loan Portfolios. Ellis was also responsible for HFC Realty Limited, a subsidiary specializing in Project, Facilities, Asset & Estate Management, and served on the Board. He developed and implemented the business plan towards establishing HFC Realty.

Previously, Ellis worked as Manager, Investment Promotion & Client Advisory Services with Goldshield Contact Services UK, where he designed and implemented investment strategies in Far East markets. He also worked as an Administrative & Marketing Manager with Bonanza Import-Export Limited, England, developing marketing campaigns and maintaining key client relationships.

Ellis holds a B.Sc. (Economics) from University of Buckingham, UK, and PGD in Corporate Management and Finance from Sorbonne University, Paris, France.

Christopher Oppon, Finance Manager

Before moving to Ghana Home Loans, Chris was Acting Head of Audit for Ghana International Airlines (GIA) where he joined as Revenue Accounting Manager but was later made head of the Audit Department.

Chris started his career with KPMG as Audit Senior where he rose to the position of Deputy Manager for Audit before joining Lincoln Community School as Business Manager. At Lincoln, He served on the Board of Directors in his capacity as an administrator. He was a teaching assistant at the University Cape Coast before leaving for further studies in the UK. Chris briefly worked with Ernst and Young (Ghana).

Chris holds a first class BA (Hons) in Economics, University of Cape Coast, Ghana and M Phil in Development Studies, Cambridge University (UK). He is a qualified Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA).

Ama Osae-Addae, Senior Analyst

Ama holds a first class B.Sc. degree in Land Economy from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology. She completed her national service at the same university where she worked as a research and teaching assistant at the centre for land studies and department of land economy.

She also worked as an insurance claims handler and Administrator with the Norwich Union Business Unit at Crawford and Company (UK) Ltd. Prior to joining Ghana Home Loans, Ama had been working as a valuation and estate officer for Apex Valuation and Property Consult, Accra.

Regina Baah, Senior Analyst

Before joining Ghana Home Loans, Regina previously worked as the Freight & Release Executive of Beedeg Shipping Ghana Ltd, where she was responsible for the issuance of Release order documents to consignees to obtain release of their goods from the various shipping companies.

She also worked with Thrutainers International Ghana Ltd as the Client Service Executive and later appointed as the office manager responsible for the daily administration of the office.

Regina holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Law & History) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi and a certificate in Maritime Law and International Trade from the Ghana Shippers Council.

Benjamin Asante Asamoah, Analyst

Benjamin started with Ghana Home Loans as a national service personnel and subsequently joined as a full time member of staff.

He is a graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Economics and French in the first class division.

He holds certificates in the study of the French language from the University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin and the Ministry of Education, France. Ben also holds a Certificate in Securities from the Ghana Stock Exchange.

Abdul Razak Gyimah, Analyst

Before joining Ghana Home Loans, Razak was a Management Trainee with Mon-tran Ltd. Prior to joining Mon-tran Ltd, he worked with Alboat Investment Limited as a Loans Officer, responsible for the processing and disbursement of loans.

He completed his National Service at the Ministry of Trade and Industry where he worked as a research assistant responsible for the collection, collation and analysis of data on the Impact of Domestic Trade Policies on Industries and Domestic Trading Activities, and the Analysis of the Status of Market Facilities, in the Greater Accra Region.

Razak holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Cape Coast and a Certificate in Ghana Securities Industry from the Ghana Stock Exchange.

Dansoaa Siaw-Misa, Analyst

Dansoaa holds a first class Bachelor’s Degree in Land Economy from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology

Prior to joining Ghana Home Loans, Dansoaa was an Assistant Property Valuer with Assenta Property Consulting.

She completed her National Service with the same company where she was responsible for valuation of landed property for selling/letting, mortgages and insurance purposes and collating data on land and property values.

Edem Afi Gunu, Analyst

Before joining Ghana Home Loans, Edem worked as an Operations Processor (Loans Dept) with Barclays Bank of Ghana Ltd. She was responsible for the processing of loans and the handling of customer instructions.

Prior to Barclays Bank of Ghana Ltd, she completed her National Service with Ghana Agro Food Company Ltd where she worked as a Marketing Executive responsible for undertaking Marketing Research for the company, designing and implementation of promotional activities and monitoring and supervising of regional promotions nationwide.

Edem holds a first class Bachelor's Degree in Political science from the University of Ghana, Legon.

Akosua Asare-Asamoah, Analyst

Akosua’s line of employment started as a Reproductive Health Assistant with Mayday Rural Clinic and Social Counselor at Initiative Development Ghana (a micro credit NGO) in 1997 and 1999 respectively after completing a two year Social Work Certificate course. She then left to pursue a first degree at the University of Ghana and completed successfully with a Second Class Upper Division in Sociology and Political Science.

After completion, she was employed at Initiative Development Ghana as the Training Manager. To serve as an eye opener, she travelled to London for close to 5 months where she had the opportunity to work.

On her return, she embarked on various research work in 6 regions of Ghana. Right afterwards, she was employed as a Credit Officer at Women’s World Banking Ghana (WWBG) at the Head Office.

There, she had the opportunity to help the Madina branch as the Credit Supervisor. Her performance in supervising Credit Officers & Sales Assistants, and handling her own portfolio, earned her the position of a permanent Credit Supervisor at the Tema branch of WWBG. 

Akosua holds a certificate in Loan Recovery Management from the Banking College.  She also took a 2 week certificate course in Delinquency Management, Loan Portfolio Audit Tool Kit, Individual Lending, Credit Controls and Administration in Kenya-Mombasa.

Christiana Duah, Analyst

Christiana holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting Option from the Central University College.

Prior to joining Ghana Home Loans, Christiana was an Assistant Internal Auditor with Ghana International Airlines where she joined as a Revenue Accounts officer but was later moved to the Audit Department.Christiana worked with Provident Insurance Company Limited.

Jeffrey Odame-Yeboah, Junior Analyst

Jeffrey holds a first class honors degree in Psychology from the University of Ghana. Jeffrey was formerly with Tigo Ghana as a customer service executive before moving to Ghana Home Loans. While there he diagnosed and solved telecommunication problems. Jeffrey served his national service with the Ghana Ports and Harbors Authority – Tema where he was the documentation control officer with the port monitoring and control department. There he set up databases to regularize the documentation process.

Heather Boateng, Junior Analyst

Heather attended the University of Ghana Legon where she attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science.

She has worked with Ghana Home Loans as a national service personnel since completing her University education. Prior to working in the insurance unit she was with origination.

Antoinette Dartey, Junior Analyst

Antoinette holds a Post graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing from Institute of Professional Studies. She completed her national service with Fidelity Bank Limited where she worked in the Corporate and Services Department assisting in branch roll-out and protocol services. Antoinette is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (ACIM-UK) and a qualified Chartered Marketer (CIM-UK)

Mrs. Freda Kay Tei, Senior Client Services Executive

Prior to joining Ghana Home Loans, Freda use to work with CFAO as a supervisor for Europcar Division and a Sales Executive for CFAO- Technology. Freda holds a Certificate in Marketing CIM-UK, Advance Certificate in Marketing from ABA and also Certficat D'etudes De Français Pratique Ler Degre from Alliance Française - Paris.
